Biography
In Los Angeles, Paul Quattrone and Vashti Windish operate as Warm Drag, merging their garage rock foundations with an expansive range of inspirations—dub, hip-hop, harsh noise, and minimal synth among them—to shape a seductive, subterranean aesthetic, as heard on their self-titled debut album from 2018.
A drummer with Thee Oh Sees who previously played in !!! and Modey Lemon, Quattrone happened to cross paths once more with Windish, a singer who had fronted Golden Triangle and K-Holes, while both were in Los Angeles. The pair promptly paired her commanding vocals with his sampling techniques, giving rise to Warm Drag. After a stretch of local performances and DJ sets across the city, the duo issued Warm Drag through In the Red in August 2018.
