Together Pangea came together in Los Angeles in 2008 as a garage punk outfit built around the home recordings of singer and guitarist William Keegan. Once Keegan brought bassist Danny Bengston and drummer Erik Jimenez on board, the three began playing shows near the CalArts campus and quickly became part of the Southern California D.I.Y. community. Their raucous, liquor-fueled performances built a dedicated audience, prompting a string of independent cassettes, singles, and EPs that culminated in the 2010 full-length debut Jelly Jam. After working with several small imprints, the band placed its second album, Living Dummy, with the respected California indie Burger Records in 2012. Extensive touring combined with positive response to that record drew international notice, leading London’s historic Harvest Records to sign the group in 2013. Their first Harvest release, the 2014 album Badillac, followed soon after. In October 2015 Together Pangea returned to Burger Records for the six-song EP The Phage, which was produced by former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson and introduced guitarist Roland Cosio. The band’s subsequent LP, Bulls and Roosters, arrived in 2017 on the Warner-distributed Nettwerk label and was co-produced by Andrew Schubert, who had worked on Badillac.
