The Walters

The Walters formed as a Chicago indie rock band whose sound blends flair, incisive melodies, and keen pop sensibility. The lineup includes frontman Luke Olson, lead guitarist Walter Kosner, rhythm guitarist and vocalist MJ Tirabassi, bassist Danny Wells, and drummer Charlie Ekhaus. The group first surfaced in 2014 via the EP Songs for Dads, whose tracks “Fancy Shoes,” “Life,” and “New Girl (Tom’s Song)” gained wide streaming traction. Canvasback Records soon signed them, after which they released the standalone cuts “Hunk Beach” and “I Want to Be Good.” Their debut album, Young Men, arrived independently in 2015. After issuing the 2017 single “She’s Gonna Leave You,” the members entered a collective hiatus. The 2014 track “I Love You So” resurfaced virally on social platforms in 2021, spurring the band’s return. A deal with Warner Records followed, leading to the early-2022 single “Million Little Problems,” which featured on the May EP Try Again. In 2023 they dropped the catchy, harmony-rich standalone track “Stuck in My Ways.”
