Biography
Zach Hurd, a singer-songwriter originating from Maine, guides Bay Ledges, an outfit whose sun-drenched alt-pop tracks fuse acoustic guitar textures drawn from folk traditions with glitch-infused electronic beats crafted in intimate home settings. Viral momentum first arrived for the project via the 2016 release "Safe," after which a run of EPs appeared ahead of the full-length arrival of Ritual, a luminous and coastal collection issued in 2022.
Once Hurd had shifted from Maine's shoreline to Los Angeles in 2015, he laid down Bay Ledges' opening single "Claire" together with his sister Georgia to honor their late grandmother. The effort resurfaced in April 2016 via The EP, then followed that November with the breakout track "Safe," which drew attention from several labels. Hurd inked a deal with S-Curve and put out the Fountain Tropical EP in 2017. The pattern of EPs whose artwork displayed sunrise and sunset imagery extended through In Waves in 2018 and the Nettwerk Music Group bow New Daze in 2020. During that stretch he shared stages with Yoke Lore and Magic City Hippies before returning to his native Maine.
Nettwerk released the 13-track debut album Ritual in May 2022; Hurd handled every aspect of its writing, production, and mixing. Following a remix of St. Lucia's "The Golden Age" and the subsequent original "Sylvia (Na Na Na)," he devoted much of 2023 to support runs alongside Trevor Hall, Big Wild, and Goth Babe, along with festival appearances and solo headline dates.
