VHS Collection

Originating in New York, the synth-pop trio VHS Collection fuses brightly colored retro 1980s synth textures with present-day electro-pop sensibilities. Formed by longtime friends James Bohannon on vocals, Conor Cook on guitar, and Nils Vanderlip on synthesizers, the group issued its first release, a three-song self-titled EP, in 2015. One year later came the modestly expanded Stereo Hype EP, which spotlighted the vivid single “Waiting on the Summer” and coincided with appearances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. In 2017 the band issued several new tracks, among them “Wide Awake,” “Fire,” and “Sign,” while continuing work toward its first full-length album.
