New York City's melodic adult-alternative outfit Panama Wedding revolves around singer-songwriter Peter Kirk and his synth-driven pop aesthetic. Raised on Long Island, Kirk first experimented with recording in his childhood bedroom, yet the project only crystallized after he moved into Manhattan and began shaping tracks inside a leased studio. For several years he presented his electronic, computer-rooted material alone before assembling a rhythm section that turned Panama Wedding into a complete band. A newly produced take on the track "All of the People," helmed in 2013 by Andrew Maury of Ra Ra Riot, Givers, and Tegan & Sara renown, gained rapid traction online; combined with strong showings at that year's CMJ festival, the exposure prompted a swift deal with Glassnote Records. The following year the group issued its first EP, Parallel Play.
