Biography
Hailing from Philadelphia, CRUISR crafts energetic, tuneful indie pop infused with a frantic new wave energy reminiscent of the 1980s. The group originated in 2012 when singer/songwriter Andy States launched it as his personal endeavor. Through creating tracks at home, States connected with Youth Lagoon's Jeremy Park via correspondence, seeking guidance on production and exchanging his demo material. Their partnership yielded a self-titled EP. Following that, States assembled a performing lineup for CRUISR by enlisting drummer Jon Van Dine, bassist Kyle Cook, and guitarist Bruno Catrambone. The band's second EP, All Over, appeared in 2014 via Vagrant Records. In subsequent years, they maintained an active schedule by sharing bills with Bleachers, Imagine Dragons, and Young Rising Sons. Additional tracks emerged during 2015, such as "Go for It" and "Throw Shade." Around the same period, Cook departed to pursue other interests. CRUISR backed Matt & Kim during live dates in 2018 while issuing the single "Mind Eraser."
