Hailing from Brooklyn, the electronic outfit Great Good Fine Ok specializes in synth-heavy, dance-focused music shot through with soulful pop melodies. The project, launched in 2013, revolves around lead vocalist and songwriter Jon Sandler alongside keyboardist Luke Moellman. Their sound blends uplifting, electronic-accented pop rooted in the 1980s and draws explicit inspiration from Michael Jackson, Prince, Tears for Fears, and Whitney Houston. Early notice arrived with the band’s debut EP and its featured track “You’re the One for Me,” which quickly turned viral by accumulating 300,000 SoundCloud streams within a single month and topping the Hype Machine aggregator. A second well-received EP soon followed, spotlighting “Too Much to Handle,” which climbed to the Top Ten of the iTunes dance chart. The exposure led to opening slots for stylistically aligned artists such as Betty Who, Tove Lo, and X Ambassadors. In 2017 the duo issued their third EP, III, which included the singles “Take It or Leave It” and “Already Love.”
