Los Angeles-based trio Parade of Lights fuse luminous electronic textures with the raw force of guitars and drums, yielding an urgent strain of electronic rock reminiscent of Paper Route, Walk the Moon, and the 1975. The lineup originated with vocalist and guitarist Ryan Daly, keyboardist Michelle Ashley, drummer Anthony Improgo, and bassist Randy Schulte, the last of whom eventually left the group. Daly and Improgo first connected in 2006 and launched a short-lived project that produced only one EP. They revived the effort in 2010 as Parade of Lights, bringing Ashley and Schulte aboard. Their independently issued debut album, Born to Live, Born to Love, appeared in 2012. The following year they issued the single “We’re the Kids,” which was later included on the 2014 EP Golden. That four-track release reached the Top 50 of the Billboard Heatseekers chart and later surfaced on the band’s first major-label album, Feeling Electric (Astralwerks). Upon its 2015 release, Feeling Electric climbed to number 24 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Two years afterward the group delivered the single “Touch,” which was featured on their 2018 EP Human Condition.
