Smallpools

In 2013 the Los Angeles indie-rock group Smallpools coalesced around vocalist Sean Scanlon, guitarist Mike Kamerman, bassist Joe Intile, and drummer Beau Kuther. Their sparkling, buoyant, and exuberant electro-pop draws clear parallels to Foster the People, Passion Pit, Fun., and Jukebox the Ghost. Early momentum arrived with the single “Dreaming,” which surfaced a month prior to the band’s first RCA-backed, self-titled EP. Their proper full-length debut, Lovetap!, appeared in 2015 and showcased the buoyant single “Karaoke.” Two further tracks, “Million Bucks” and “Passenger Side,” paved the way for the August 2017 release of the follow-up EP The Science of Letting Go.
