Biography
Emerging from Cincinnati's local circuit toward the end of the 2000s, Bad Veins simulated an entire indie rock orchestra through the combined efforts of its two members while weaving together strands of electro, space rock, new wave, goth, and shoegaze. What began as the solo outlet for singer and multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Davis became a duo in 2006 after he joined forces with kinetic percussionist Sebastian Schultz. A series of New York City performances paved the way for their standout appearance at the CMJ festival in 2007, continuing the magazine's pattern of spotlighting emerging acts. Universal praise greeted the duo's self-titled Dangerbird debut two years later. The Outliers EP appeared in 2010, followed by The Mess We've Made in 2012. Bad Veins delivered their third full-length release, Mess Remade, in 2015, highlighted by a reworking of the Muppets' classic song "Rainbow Connection."
