Jago

Jago, a brotherly duo, carried their danceclub pop to listeners well outside their South African homeland during the early 2000s. Born in Durban to a family steeped in music, Carl and Donovan Jago developed into highly skilled performers who handle every aspect of their output—writing, arranging, producing, and delivering the vocals themselves. The pair secured a deal with TVI Records & Filmworks, the Florida-based American dance imprint, which issued their first full-length release, Anything & Everything. That collection fused electronica—specifically its candy-coated progressive trance variant—with sweet pop ingredients, yielding an eclectic set of club-oriented tracks. Several leaned into ballad territory, notably “Fireflies” and “Wishful Thinking [Chloe],” while others, led by the single “Dream” and its accompanying remixes, stayed squarely aimed at the dancefloor.
