Biography
Comprising MC MUDD, who originates from Chicago, and DJ Ragz, who originates from Sacramento, the duo aims to restore texture and lyricism to hip-hop. Neo-jazz turntablism, lounge samples, electronic sounds, and abstract beats form their richly layered soundtracks. Ragz possesses a knack for forging cohesion among disparate sounds, whereas MUDD draws from legends such as KRS-One, lending his delivery a blend of charisma, storytelling, and an enviable vocabulary. Consciousness and awareness shape his lyricism. The album Oxygen Refreshed, issued in 2007, sought to fuse an old-school vibe with a modern sound. ~ Vincent Thomas
