Jazztronik

Ryota Nozak operates under the alias Jazztronik as a Japanese DJ, musician, and producer whose output merges jazz elements with deep house rhythms and dance grooves. Classical piano lessons began for him during high school, yet growing curiosity about modern sounds prompted exploration of Herbie Hancock and additional established jazz keyboardists, which in turn sparked enthusiasm for Latin jazz, Brazilian music, and longstanding jazz traditions. The 1999 debut release under the Jazztronik name, Ms. Loneliness, launched a lengthy series of EPs and singles from the industrious creator, while the first complete album, Inner Flight, appeared in 2001. Worldwide acclaim has placed Nozak among the foremost figures in nu jazz and jazz house, and beyond his own material he has delivered remixes for P'Taah, Crystal Kay, Jafrosax, and Sunaga T Experience, with his DJ performances routinely drawing large crowds to events in Japan and the U.K.
