Biography
Born Myer Goodhue Alexander, Jeff Alexander worked as a classically trained composer, arranger, and conductor across a 28-year span that encompassed both Hollywood productions and television. His television assignments covered series such as My Three Sons as well as installments of The Twilight Zone. While scoring motion pictures he created several songs in a popular style, among them "Soothe My Lonely Heart", "The Wings of Eagles", and "Blues About Manhattan", and he separately produced classical works intended for the concert hall. Alexander additionally prepared choral arrangements for a number of 1950s theater-related recordings, one of which was the 1951 cast recording of The Vagabond King, later reissued on CD by Decca in the early twenty-first century.
