Jessica Vosk built a career as a Broadway leading lady and recording artist whose clear, commanding vocals span an impressive range, though she entered the profession later than most after spending time on Wall Street and eventually landing the title role in Wicked during its 2018 Broadway season. That same year saw the arrival of her debut album, Wild and Free.

Born in Clinton, New Jersey, Vosk began singing as a youngster under the guidance of her father, a band member. She initially pursued musical theater at The Hartt School in Connecticut before switching to Montclair State University, where she completed a degree in communications and public relations. After several years at a Wall Street firm, she followed her longstanding interest in musical theater by beginning to audition, securing her first notable credit in 2009 as a vocalist for Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus’ Kristina, presented in concert at both Carnegie Hall and Royal Albert Hall.

At age 30 in 2014, Vosk stepped onto a Broadway stage for the first time, serving as understudy and swing for The Bridges of Madison County and then creating the supporting part of Miss Bassett in Finding Neverland, which premiered at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in April 2015. Five months later she departed to portray Fruma-Sarah in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, whose previews began that November. In September 2016 she embarked on a twelve-month national tour of Wicked in the role of Elphaba, then assumed the same character at the Gershwin Theatre in July 2018, shortly before the production marked its fifteenth anniversary.

Her first solo album, Wild and Free, appeared in August 2018 on Broadway Records. The collection blended theater standards with pop material by Prince, Sia, and Sara Bareilles, and was produced by Michael Croiter and Robbie Rozelle with Vosk and Mary-Mitchell Campbell credited as co-producers; it peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
