Biography
Born in Zottegem in 1976, Jessy De Smet rose to prominence as one of the leading vocalists on the Belgian dance circuit. Initial acclaim arrived when she served as frontwoman for the '90s TMF Award-winning group the Mackenzie, appearing on their album Angel before striking out on her own. A 2002 alliance with Milk Inc. producer Regi Penxten yielded her debut album Rain, yet her greatest breakthrough occurred four years later through the Mickey Modelle duet "Dancing in the Dark," which entered the U.K. Top Ten. Subsequent guest spots on recordings by Sash! and DJ Rebel preceded the 2012 release of her Greatest Hits collection.
