Fernando Sierra performs solo under the name Jory Boy, having co-founded the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Nova y Jory. Puerto Rico was his birthplace in 1986, after which his family relocated him to the United States at age ten and he spent his upbringing in Camden, New Jersey. Music creation began for him during the teenage years, accompanied by appearances across multiple talent shows and competitions. The 2003 encounter with Fernando Gonzalez, known as Nova and likewise a Puerto Rican transplant pursuing music, led the pair to collaborate on tracks reflecting the challenges of their shared background. Por Encima became their debut mixtape in 2007, a release that included work with prominent reggaeton acts such as Wisin & Yandel, Yaga & Mackie, and Jory's cousin Zion. Several further mixtapes preceded the duo's first proper album, Mucha Calidad, which appeared in 2011. The 2012 breakup shifted both members toward solo work. Numerous standalone singles and partnerships with artists including Trébol Clan and Ñengo Flow preceded Jory Boy's initial full-length solo album, Matando la Liga, issued in 2015 as an Auto-Tune-heavy set of polished love songs. December 2016 brought the follow-up Otra Liga, which included contributions from fellow Puerto Rican artist Ozuma and Colombian star Maluma, among others. Late 2017 yielded two independent singles, opening with "Nada Serio" featuring Almighty in October and continuing with "Zombie" featuring Ñejo two months afterward. His next LP, Otra Liga 2, surfaced in 2018.
