Kevin Parent

Originating from Quebec as a bilingual singer and songwriter, Kevin Parent devoted the bulk of his professional life to French-language work. The initial quartet of releases—Pigeon d'Argile (1995), Grand Parleur, Petit Faiseur (1998), Les Vents Ont Changé (2001), and Retrouvailles (2003)—each achieved strong commercial results along with widespread critical praise and multiple industry honors, among them the Juno Award for Best Selling Francophone Album of 2002. A 1993 songwriting competition led to his discovery, after which his debut quickly surpassed 300,000 units sold and launched his trajectory at an accelerated pace. Returning to English, his first language, Parent chose 2007 for the full-length Fangless Wolf Facing Winter. Featuring an extensive roster of collaborators, the project reached the Canadian Billboard Album chart’s Top Ten.
