An Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning actor, producer, and director, Kiefer Sutherland launched a parallel path in music during 2016 by issuing his first full-length recording, Down in a Hole. Two subsequent efforts in a comparable vein—Reckless & Me, steeped in country and Americana, and the similarly oriented Bloor Street—followed in 2019 and 2022, respectively.

Long recognized for lead roles in the television series 24 and Designated Survivor as well as for early cinematic appearances in Stand by Me, The Lost Boys, Young Guns, and Flatliners, Sutherland first entered the music industry by co-founding the Ironworks imprint alongside his associate Jude Cole during the mid-2000s, precisely when his visibility from 24 reached its height. The fledgling label’s initial signing was Rocco DeLuca; Ron Sexsmith and Lifehouse were added later, with the latter issuing Out of the Wasteland in 2015. Around that same period Sutherland assembled his own roots-oriented Americana group, the Kiefer Sutherland Band. Cole, after listening to several original compositions, urged him to formalize the project, prompting a 2015 tour of modest venues across the United States. Cole then joined Sutherland in shaping the Kiefer Sutherland Band’s debut album, Down in a Hole, a blend that merged earthy textures with country-pop, Americana, and classic-rock elements. He likewise produced the band’s second album, Reckless & Me, released in 2019. In the following year Sutherland previewed the twangy single “Bloor Street” before the full album bearing that title appeared in January 2022.
