Carrying forward the musical tradition set by his father, Ky-Mani Marley upholds the pop-reggae style long associated with his family. Embracing his Jamaican heritage, he issued his first album, The Journey, on his own in 1998. The record quickly earned strong support on reggae charts while also drawing committed listeners among fans of Bob Marley. The following year brought a re-release of The Journey aimed at audiences in the United States. Spring 2001 saw the arrival of Many More Roads, followed by Radio in 2007. Artists Only issued both projects. Konfrentation Muzik served as the label for his 2015 album Maestro, which showcased a wide range of production drawn from across the pop spectrum.
