Biography
Finnish surf-revivalists Laika and the Cosmonauts brought back guitarist Mikko Lankinen and drummer Janne Haavisto, whose earlier partnership had taken place in the similar outfit Pluto & the Astronauts. With the addition of guitarist/keyboardist Matti Pitsinki and bassist Tom Nyman, the quartet released its first album, C'Mon Do the Laika!, during 1988. Two years afterward came Surfs You Right!, after which the band returned in 1993 under the title Instruments of Terror. Further releases arrived in the form of 1995's Amazing Colossal Band and 1997's Absurdistan, and Laike Sex Machine appeared at the start of 2001.
