Left Hand Solution

Left Hand Solution originated in Sundsvall, Sweden, as a classic-sounding doom band and launched their activities during the early '90s through multiple demos, a track on the 1993 Metal North compilation, and the 1994 Shadowdance EP that featured vocalist Kicki Höijertz, guitarist Jocke Mårdstam, bassist Peter Selin, and drummer Erik Barthold. Höijertz departed prior to the 1996 full-length debut Fevered, after which guitarist Mårdstam also left the group; singer Mariana Holmberg and guitarist Janne Wiklund stepped in as replacements, leading to the recording and 2001 release of the belated sophomore album Light Shines Black. The record reflected a shift by Left Hand Solution toward a more gothic style, yet the band then entered an extended period of inactivity.
