Biography
Leon Lee Dorsey launched his recording career as a bandleader in 1995 with the release of his debut album The Watcher on Landmark, quickly establishing a commanding presence. After earning degrees from Oberlin College, the University of Wisconsin, and the Manhattan School of Music, he built an extensive résumé as a sideman alongside such notables as Benny Carter, Max Roach, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver, and Cassandra Wilson. Two years later came his sophomore effort, Song of Songs.
