Biography
Drawing inspiration from the warm, countryside-driven sounds of the Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, and First Aid Kit, the five-piece Dublin outfit Little Green Cars delivers its own Irish-inflected version of Americana. The group layers rich five-part vocal harmonies across a foundation that blends the textures of R.E.M. and Fleetwood Mac with the country-folk-pop spirit of Woody Guthrie. Little Green Cars came together in 2008, built around Stevie Appleby, Faye O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Donagh Seaver O'Leary, and Dylan Lynch. The musicians explored a wide range of approaches and amassed a large catalog of songs before signing with Glassnote and entering the studio alongside producer Markus Dravs, whose prior credits include Arcade Fire and Björk, to lay down their first full-length release, Absolute Zero, which appeared in 2013. Early in 2016 the band released the single "The Song They Play Every Night" to herald the arrival of its second studio album, Ephemera, which followed later that March.
