Biography
Louis Couperin, a French organist, created works for organ fugues, harpsichord, and plainchant. He shaped the foundational pattern of the French keyboard suite and produced the celebrated treatise “L'art de toucher le clavecin” (“The Art of Playing the Harpsichord”), a volume the young J. S. Bach examined in detail.
