Biography
Italy's Macbeth came together in 1995 as a goth metal outfit drawing comparisons to Evanescence and Lacuna Coil. Drummer Fabrizio guided the group through the recording of its six-track demo, Nocturnal Embrace, which surfaced in 1997. A contract with Dragonheart soon followed, enabling the release of the debut album Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo in 1998. Extensive lineup upheaval struck before the musicians could enter the studio for their next project. Once the roster stabilized, sessions began for Vanitas, which reached listeners in 2001. Several years elapsed before the band delivered a third album to metal audiences; Malae Artes finally appeared in 2005. A supporting tour ensued, carrying the musicians across numerous territories that included the United States and Lebanon. Macbeth, by then a dual-vocalist-led septet, returned in 2007 with Superangelic Hate Bringers, again issued on Dragonheart.
