Maisak

Maikel Rafael Rico Torres, the Venezuelan urbano artist, chose to pursue his father's path during his early teens. Though he would later absorb the urban currents of present-day Latin music, echoes of vallenato continued to shape his sound. Seeking entry into the business, he relocated to Medellín, a central node in Latin pop. In 2020 he captured a contest organized by the noted production duo the Rudeboyz and a Colombian radio station, after which he began supplying lyrics to other acts and issuing his own early tracks under the name Maisak. His trajectory gained decisive traction in 2023 when a meeting with Maluma resulted in a deal on the Colombian star's Royalty Records imprint. Output rose sharply from a pair of singles in each of 2021 and 2022 to five in 2023 and nine during the first nine months of 2024, among them his genuine breakout, "Se Me Olvida," which features Feid.
