Hailing from Saint-Gédéon-de-Beauce, Quebec, where he entered the world on June 16, 1987, Maxime Landry is a francophone singer from Canada who first captured national attention by winning the fourth season of the reality series Star Académie. He surpassed finalist Carolanne D'astous-Paquet to claim the top prize. In the wake of that victory, his performance of "L'Envie" was included on the 2009 various-artists collection Star Académie 2009. Later that year he issued his debut full-length solo album, Vox Pop, which rose to number two on the Canadian albums chart and marked a breakthrough commercial success. The project’s lead single, "Cache-Cache," was penned by Félix Award-winning singer/songwriter Lynda Lemay.
