MC Davo, born David Sierra Trevino, emerged as a rapper and social media personality from Monterrey, Mexico. Early on he laid down his rapid-fire rhymes and infectious hooks inside his own bedroom, while taking stages at neighborhood bars, public plazas, and area festivals. His initial major project surfaced in 2008 via MySpace, offered as free downloads. Building an audience around Haciendo lo Imposible ("Doing the Impossible"), he also sharpened his profile through underground rap battles. The next effort, 2010's La Dejo a Tu Criterio ("I Leave It to Your Judgment"), appeared on Howse Records under the production of his regular partners Kodigo 36. True breakthrough status came in 2011 with Psicosis ("Psychosis"), which was followed by a 2012 sequel that included input from Meny Mendez. Warner Music Mexico brought him aboard in 2014, resulting in the album El Dominio ("Domain"). That project blended reggaeton accents into his relaxed hip-hop style, earned gold certification, and resurfaced the next year in a deluxe edition.
