Biography
Hailing from Kurri Kurri in New South Wales, Australian singer-songwriter Melody Pool writes confessional songs that draw on the melodic pop-folk approach of California artists Joni Mitchell and Jackson Browne. She raised funds through crowdfunding to release her debut album, The Hurting Scene, on her own; the project was tracked in Nashville under producers Jace Everett and Brad Jones. After earning strong critical notice, Pool secured publishing and label agreements with Mushroom Music Publishing and Liberation Music, which issued a new edition of The Hurting Scene in July 2013.
