Michael Gordon, better known as Mk.Gee, crafts his R&B material from an unconventional position within the genre, blending dreamy instrumentals and funk-infused guitar lines that earned both stylistic comparisons and direct support from Frank Ocean. After issuing multiple well-received EPs, he put out the full-length mixtape A Museum of Contradiction in 2020, followed by the arrival of his official debut album Two Star & The Dream Police in 2024.

Born in 1997 in Linwood, New Jersey, Gordon began piano lessons at age seven. During his teenage years he performed in a band yet soon grew restless within that collaborative setup, prompting him to focus on solo recordings instead. Relocating to Los Angeles, he enrolled at the USC School of Music and refined the alternative R&B approach that would define his work.

Mk.Gee’s first album, Pronounced McGee, surfaced in 2018 and quickly attracted listeners, leading him to issue the additional mixtape Fool before the year ended. His second mixtape, A Museum of Contradiction, appeared in 2020. In 2023 he released several singles, among them “Candy” and “How Many Miles,” both of which later appeared on the 2024 full-length Two Star & The Dream Police.
