Boy Pablo surfaced on streaming services in the opening months of 2016, bringing exuberant indie pop defined by harmonic richness together with melodic and lyrical charm. The next year brought breakthrough success when “Everytime” surpassed ten million streams, opening doors to several EPs and then the full-length Wachito Rico in 2020. A third EP joined the catalog by 2021.

Norwegian-born Nicolás Pablo Rivera Muñoz, whose parents hail from Chile, grew up in Bergen and studied at a private music high school in Os. He introduced the Boy Pablo name at seventeen with the February 2016 track “Flowers.” Site-curated bedroom pop playlists in 2017 placed him among an international circle of teenage peers that included Clairo, Cuco, Yellow Days, and Rex Orange County.

His self-produced debut EP, Roy Pablo, appeared on 777 Records that May and featured the viral “Everytime.” By that point he had assembled a backing band visible in the song’s video. Two more streaming successes, “Losing You” and “Sick Feeling,” surfaced on the 2018 follow-up EP Soy Pablo. That year also marked the first tours beyond Norway for Muñoz and the band, among them a sold-out club run through the U.S. and Canada.

Experience from those shows informed the making of the 2020 debut album Wachito Rico, whose songs continued his reflections on the shift from youth to adulthood. Tuck me In arrived as another EP in 2021.
