Mohamed Ali emerged as a Danish pop vocalist after achieving visibility in 2009 via the X Factor television competition, which soon led to the release of his first album. He was born September 7, 1993, in Nørresundby, Denmark, and lists Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, and Michael Jackson among his primary influences. Finishing third on the Danish season of the show that year—where he appeared simply as Mohamed—he placed behind winner Linda Andrews and second-place finisher Alien Beat Club. Immediately following that result he secured a major-label deal with Sony Music and introduced his commercial work through the Top 20 single “Rocket.” His debut solo album Keep It Simple arrived later in 2009 and rose to number two on the Danish albums chart.
