Mr. Capone-E

Chicano rapper Mr. Capone-E cultivated a substantial audience across Southern California and aligned with Thump Records as an ideal base for his hardcore approach. He signed with the label following the release of his Mr. Capone-E & the Southsiders album in 2000 on Hi Power. During his Thump tenure he issued Dedicated 2 the Oldies in 2003, an effort that included his renditions of classic oldies such as Rosie & the Originals' "Angel Baby" and the Escorts' "Look Over Your Shoulder." A 2006 collaboration placed him alongside Twista on the Top 40 single "Don't Get It Twisted," and in 2009 he paired with Snoop Dogg for "Light My Fire." Tears of a Soldier appeared in 2011, with Oldies for Life arriving in 2013. After the Los Angeles Times mixtape surfaced in 2014, he delivered two LPs the same day in 2016—For Respect and No Regrets—before issuing four gangsta rap albums in 2017: Jackin' Your Beats, Gangster Love, A Hi Power Smokeout, and My Gang Related.
