Biography
Nü Sensae channels a raw, aggressive strain of punk revivalism shaped equally by Sub Pop and SST. Singer and bassist Andrea Lukic joined forces with drummer Daniel Pitout to launch the project in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2008, after cutting their teeth at the city’s subterranean venue The Emergency Room. That same year the pair hit the road with Terror Bird and issued the track “Self-Titled” on a one-sided 12"; the Three Dreams EP followed in 2009. Throughout 2010 and 2011 the duo unveiled their debut full-length TV, Death and the Devil, the standalone single Tea Swamp Park, and split releases alongside Okie Dokie and touring partners White Lung. After inking a deal with Suicide Squeeze, the group enlisted noise-rock guitarist Brody McKnight and booked time at Josh Stevenson’s studio, the same facility used by Jackie-O Motherfucker. Their second album, Sundowning, surfaced in the summer of 2012.
