N.O.I.A.

Forming in 1978 as a quintet, N.O.I.A. started out as an Italian synth-pop outfit. The group claimed victory at the first Italian rock festival in 1980, yet independent releases did not surface until three years afterward. The tracks "Europe" and "Hunger in the East" surfaced on Rocker '80, a 1980 EMI compilation, while the actual debut arrived after they signed with Italian and issued the 1983 12" Looking for Love. Five further singles and EPs appeared through 1985. In 2000 the members reconvened to document material first composed between 1978 and 1982, resulting in Unreleased on Ersatz Audio, the label operated by Adult.
