Novulent, a singer from Texas, crafts a mesmerizing fusion of dreamy shoegaze textures and heavy alt-metal riffs that evokes deep emotional resonance. Their breakthrough came via the 2023 track "Scars," included on the debut full-length Vol. 1, which quickly spread across the internet. Further momentum built around the 2024 release Dear Diary.
Originating in Houston, Texas, the artist launched the project alone during high school years, composing tracks directly on a mobile device. Early efforts leaned toward a cloud rap style, drawing from XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, and OsamaSon. Once a full band assembled, the music evolved into a denser, more layered combination incorporating shoegaze, grunge, and alt-metal elements. The year 2023 saw the arrival of Vol. 1 and its standout viral hit "Scars," amassing widespread online engagement in the millions. Additional projects followed in 2024 with both Dear Diary and Vol. 2.
