London, U.K. rap collective NSG first assembled as a multi-faceted Afro-bashment outfit. Its six core members—Kruddz, ODG, Papil Abz, Dope, Mxjib, and Mojo—had all grown up together in Hackney, and all but Mojo had attended the same local school. Bound by a common passion for Afro-centric sounds, the six pooled their talents in 2017 to issue their debut mixtape, Grown Up. The next year brought their breakthrough single “Options,” which included a guest vocal from Tion Wayne. Buoyed by fresh support, the group moved forward with its first full-length album, Roots, which appeared in 2020.
