Biography
Ouri, the Montréal-based electronic musician, produces abstract dance music of a highly sensuous character that integrates pop and R&B elements, as heard on her 2021 release Frame of a Fauna. Born in Paris and raised in South America, she studied piano, harp, and cello during her youth. After relocating to Montréal for university, she began producing and performing electronic music with both hardware and software, while initiating collaborations with several artists active in the local scene, among them CRi and Odile Myrtil. Her recording career opened with the 2015 EP Maze, a six-song collection of lush, experimental dance tracks. The 2017 full-length Superficial appeared next, accompanied by a collaborative EP with Mind Bath. Ouri first appeared on Ghostly International with the 2018 EP We Share Our Blood, the most vocal-focused project she had issued to that point. She continued issuing standalone singles under her own name and formed the art-pop duo Hildegard with Helena Deland, whose self-titled debut arrived in 2021. That same year she delivered her long-awaited solo debut, the complex and innovative Frame of a Fauna.
