Biography
DJ Overseer, based in the United Kingdom, established his reputation through productions that blended the grandiose swagger of heavy metal guitar riffs with the thunderous low-end force of big beat. His earliest appearances on record arrived via the independent EPs Zeptastic in 1996 and Hit the Tarmac in 1998. Columbia Records noticed the material and secured a deal with him in late 1998. Before long his high-energy tracks surfaced in motion pictures such as Any Given Sunday, the television series Alias, and video games built around extreme sports. The Everything Louder Than Everything Else EP surfaced in 2000, after which Overseer remained silent until the productive stretch of 2002-2003. He supplied the trailer music for Matrix: Reloaded and placed a cut on the soundtrack of the extreme ski and snowboard film The Prophecy. Overseer created the entire score for Animatrix, the animated companion piece to the popular film series, and his compositions also appeared in a prominent Mitsubishi advertising campaign. His debut full-length LP, Wreckage, arrived during the same active period.
