Biography
Trey Anastasio of Phish, Les Claypool from Primus, and Stewart Copeland, renowned for his tenure in the Police, formed the unexpected supergroup Oysterhead. Their first meeting occurred as a planned single appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in May 2000. Strong creative rapport emerged right away during the sold-out show, prompting the three to extend the collaboration by convening at Anastasio’s Vermont studio in April 2001 to record. The resulting album, The Grand Pecking Order, appeared in October 2001 and was followed by a North American tour.
