Panos Kiamos

Panos Kiamos launched his career performing in the nightclubs of Athens, the city where he was born. Following several years of supporting established acts on the local circuit, he launched a solo career in 1998 by issuing his first album. Although that initial release enjoyed modest traction, it was the 1999 album Not Only that earned him wider notice. By 2002 he had settled into a stronger position, working the venues of Thessaloniki—the second-largest city in Greece—while issuing fresh recordings that resonated with devoted listeners. A series of live albums, further studio projects, and frequent club engagements throughout Thessaloniki fueled his ongoing ascent, drawing him back to Athens and its larger nightlife circuit by 2006, where he resumed performing in the Piraeus district. Consistently placing on the Greek charts with a direct ballad style that incorporated regional instrumental touches, he reached the forefront of the domestic music landscape. The double album Our Nights: Live, released in 2008, returned him to the charts and reached a peak position of number five.
