A British producer celebrated for collecting multiple honors, Paul Epworth first built his reputation by overseeing projects for leading figures such as Adele and Rihanna, before stepping forward as a solo artist in 2020 through the release of Voyager.

Epworth entered the world in Bishop's Stortford, a leafy London commuter town, and entered the music scene at the start of the 2000s by serving as frontman of the little-heard indie outfit Lomax. That band issued a single long-player, A Symbol of Modern Living, in 2003 and then dissolved. Epworth subsequently turned to independent remixing and production duties, issuing a pair of electronica tracks credited to Phones and Epic Man. His studio contributions to the debut full-lengths from Futureheads, Maxïmo Park, and Bloc Party quickly drew widespread attention. Working both behind the board and as a songwriter, he helped define the sonic identities of an array of major acts, most prominently Adele, Rihanna, and Florence + the Machine, and later extended his reach to Coldplay, U2, and Mumford & Sons. He also earned praise for a series of remixes frequently issued under the Phones moniker. Across his career he secured five Grammy Awards along with an Academy Award for the composition "Skyfall," featured in the James Bond film of the same name.

September 2020 saw the arrival of Epworth's first solo album, Voyager. The ambitious set married his longstanding enthusiasms for vintage science fiction and 1970s R&B, weaving together funk, disco, spiritual jazz, and hip-hop while enlisting an extensive roster of featured singers that included Ishmael, Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, Kool Keith, and Jay Electronica.
