Biography
Philippe Brach, a Canadian singer and songwriter, blends sincere yet candid lyrics with chamber pop carrying distinct folk accents. Having entered the scene in 2012, the Saguenay, Quebec native put out his debut album Foire et Lordre in 2014, an outing that claimed the Prix Félix. Both commercial success and critical praise followed the arrival of his second album Portraits de Famine, which contained the hit single "Crystel." A SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination came to Brach for "La fin du monde," the track taken from his 2017 release Silence des troupeaux, itself shortlisted for the Francophone Juno Award. On 2023’s Les gens qu’on aime he presented a richly orchestrated collection of songs marked by his signature wit and winking cynicism.
