Arthur Baker and John Robie, two early hip-hop impresarios, handled production and organization duties for Planet Patrol, whose sound navigated a compelling fusion of electro and the timeless Motown style. Fronted by Herb Jackson, this vocal quintet issued just one album, yet that release remains among the electro era’s rare classic LPs.
