Biography
Australian guitarist Plini first drew notice in 2013 when he began uploading tracks and performance clips to the internet, quickly earning a dedicated audience for his technical command of the instrument and his intricate, fully instrumental compositions. Born Plini Roessler-Holgate in Sydney in 1992, he absorbed punk and heavy metal during childhood and had already developed considerable six-string ability by his teenage years. While enrolled in an architecture program, he started capturing music at home and sharing the results online. That same year he issued the self-produced EPs Other Things and Sweet Nothings, both of which attracted prog listeners. Additional EPs and early live performances further strengthened his standing. After departing university, he issued his first full-length album, Handmade Cities, in 2016, an effort that sustained his rising profile. Beyond his own recordings, Plini has appeared on tracks by Skyharbor, Intervals, David Maxim Micic, and additional artists. He followed the debut with the 2018 EP Sunhead.
