Jason Boyd, known professionally as Poo Bear, penned Usher's "Caught Up," 112's "Peaches and Cream," and Chris Brown's "I Can Transform Ya." In 2014 he began his own recording career, aided by longtime associate Justin Bieber. Although Connecticut-born, Boyd grew up in Atlanta and was only 14 when he helped write 112's "Always," after which credits for Whitney Houston, Jagged Edge, P!nk, Dr. Dre, Drake, and many more followed. He supplied numerous tracks to Usher's 2004 album Confessions and, three years later, co-wrote the chart-topping "Make It Rain" with Lil Wayne and Fat Joe. Boyd's first single, "Work for It," surfaced in 2014 and featured Tyga alongside Justin Bieber. His work with Bieber extended through the singer's 2013 Journals project, though 2015 brought multiple successes from Purpose, among them "Where Are U Now" and "What Do You Mean." That same year he released the Beats 2 Make Love 2 mixtape. Additional 2017 collaborations included Trey Songz, David Guetta, and Fifth Harmony, plus the joint Skrillex single "Would You Ever." In 2018 Boyd issued his debut full-length, Poo Bear Presents: Bearthday Music, which drew contributions from Bieber, Zara Larsson, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jennifer Lopez. Returning to songwriting duties, he contributed to releases by Mariah Carey, DJ Khaled, and Utada Hikaru while teaming with Bieber on three Hot 100 hits: "I Don't Care" with Ed Sheeran, the "Bad Guy (Remix)" with Billie Eilish, and "10,000 Hours" with Dan + Shay.
