Quavo, one-third of the trap trio Migos, extends his triplet flows and distinctive approach into solo work while contributing guest verses across countless other artists’ recordings. The 2018 project Quavo Huncho reached the second position on the Billboard charts, and his featured turns appeared on multiple top-ten singles, among them tracks by Drake, Justin Bieber, and Post Malone. He regularly issues standalone singles, and in 2022 he joined Migos associate Takeoff for the collaborative album Only Built for Infinity Links, which also entered the top ten. Shortly after its arrival, Takeoff was fatally shot, prompting Quavo to devote his 2023 follow-up Rocket Power to the late collaborator; that set likewise charted inside the top twenty. The next year brought further joint releases, among them the charting single “Tough” with Lana Del Rey.

Born Quavious Marshall in 1991, Quavo was raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. With cousin Offset and nephew Takeoff he co-founded Migos in 2009, issuing the early mixtapes Juug Season in 2011 and No Label in 2012—the latter later receiving a 2014 sequel. Full attention arrived with “Versace,” drawn from the 2013 mixtape Young Rich N*ggas; Drake’s remix amplified its reach. Complex Music named Quavo “most influential rapper” in 2014. Subsequent Migos output included the studio albums Yung Rich Nation (2015) and C U L T U R E (2017). Additional appearances encompassed “Champions” for Kanye West’s GOOD Music imprint, the 2016 track “Fuck Cancer” with Young Thug, and 2017’s “Go Off” alongside Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert for the Fate of the Furious soundtrack. The Travis Scott collaboration Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho surfaced the same year. In 2018 Quavo dropped solo singles “Workin Me” and “Bubble Gum,” both included on the October release Quavo Huncho, which featured Drake, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, 21 Savage, Offset, Takeoff, and Madonna. Further guest spots followed on recordings by E-40, Don Toliver, Iggy Azalea, Major Lazer, and 2 Chainz, among others. He joined DJ Khaled on the 2018 single “No Brainer,” which peaked at number five, and contributed to Justin Bieber’s 2020 track “Intentions,” another number-five hit. His own 2021 release “Strub tha Ground” featured Yung Miami. In May 2022, Quavo, Takeoff, Unc, and Phew issued “Hotel Lobby,” the lead single for the Quavo/Takeoff album Only Built for Infinity Links, released in October with appearances by Summer Walker, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, and Gunna. The project debuted at number seven on the Billboard Top 200. On November 1, Takeoff was shot and killed outside a Houston club after a private party; Quavo witnessed the incident unharmed. Early 2023 brought solo singles such as “Baby” and “Honey Bun,” followed by “Turn Yo Clic Up” with Future. In August, Quavo issued his second studio album Rocket Power—its title referencing Takeoff—which included verses from the late rapper and contributions from Future, Young Thug, BabyDrill, and Hunxho, with production by Murda Beatz, Kenny Beats, and Bnyx. Rocket Power entered the Billboard charts at number eighteen. Early 2024 opened with joint tracks alongside ATL Jacob and BU$HI plus the solo cut “Himothy.” March brought “Real One” with Rich the Kid. Later pairings included the charting “Tough” with Lana Del Rey, “Fly” with Lenny Kravitz, and “Georgia Ways” with Luke Bryan and Teddy Swims.
