Lil Uzi Vert has long tested the outer edges of mainstream rap by blending unorthodox flows, inventive beats, and albums that slip between genres. Early exposure to Marilyn Manson and Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak shaped an approach that surfaced in North Philadelphia, where a laid-back delivery linked Young Thug, Chief Keef, and the A$AP Mob. A guest verse on Migos’ chart-topping “Bad & Boujee” opened the door to three straight number-one LPs: 2017’s Luv Is Rage 2, anchored by the trap-pop single “XO Tour Llif3,” 2020’s Eternal Atake, and 2023’s wide-ranging The Pink Tape. The fourth studio set, Eternal Atake 2, surfaced in 2024 and included a turn from boy band Big Time Rush.

Initial placements on DJ Diamond Kuts productions gave way to the 2014 release “Dej Loaf,” a nod to the Detroit singer that accelerated momentum. Don Cannon presented the mixtape The Real Uzi that year, while DJ Drama helped secure an Atlantic Records contract that yielded Luv Is Rage in late 2015. Early 2016 brought Lil Uzi vs. the World under Don Cannon, with additional production from Metro Boomin and Maaly Raw; “You Was Right” and “Money Longer” both reached the Billboard Hot 100, and the project itself entered the Billboard 200’s upper half. Months afterward, The Perfect Luv Tape arrived and peaked at number 55. By year’s end the Migos collaboration “Bad & Boujee” had climbed to the top of the Hot 100. Later in 2017 the single “XO Tour Llif3” entered the chart’s top tier and became the lead track on Luv Is Rage 2, which also featured Oh Wonder, Pharrell Williams, and the Weeknd.

Further hits followed in 2018 with the standalone “New Patek” and a featured spot alongside Kanye West on Travis Scott’s “Watch.” “That’s a Rack” and “Sanguine Paradise” appeared in early 2019. Eternal Atake, the second studio album, dropped in March 2020, debuted at number one, and accumulated more than 400 million streams in its first week. A deluxe edition, Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World 2, followed a week later with added contributions from NAV, 21 Savage, Future, Gunna, and others. November 2020 saw the joint release Pluto X Baby Pluto with Future, while the single “Demon High” arrived in October 2021.

As work on a third album extended across subsequent years, periodic leaks about The Pink Tape surfaced. July 2022 brought the nine-track EP Red & White—the first fully solo project since Eternal Atake—which entered the Billboard 200 at number 23. June 2023 saw the standalone “I’m Not Human” with XXXTentacion precede the June release of The Pink Tape, whose guests included Nicki Minaj, Bring Me the Horizon, Travis Scott, and Don Toliver. The set folded rock, metal, and hardcore textures into an already expansive rap sound and debuted at number one, marking the third consecutive studio album to do so. Eternal Atake 2 followed in November 2024, featuring production from Cashmere Cat, Brandon Finessin, Henney Major, and others, along with the tracks “Chill Bae” and “The Rush,” the latter carrying a guest appearance from Big Time Rush.
